The President of the Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association (DEPOWA), Mrs. Oghogho Gwabin Musa, has reaffirmed the association’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence, moral upbringing, and holistic development during the 2025 Speech and Prize-Giving Day ceremony of the DEPOWA Daycare, Nursery, Primary, and Secondary School in Abuja.
In her address to a gathering of dignitaries, parents, teachers, and students at the DEPOWA school premises in Abuja, Mrs. Musa expressed immense pride in the progress and accomplishments of the institution under her leadership.
She noted that the event not only celebrated academic brilliance but also the creativity, character, and potential of students across all levels of the school.
“This occasion is not just a ceremony,” Mrs. Musa said. “It is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and excellence that define DEPOWA. Education is the bedrock of a progressive society, and at DEPOWA, we are committed to nurturing young minds in an environment that promotes academic excellence, moral values, and patriotism.”
Highlighting her administration’s achievements since assuming office two years ago, Mrs. Musa unveiled several transformative projects, including the repainting of school structures, the upgrading of science laboratories, installation of new computer systems, and the provision of a 100 KVA MICANO generator to improve power supply.
She also announced the commissioning of a fully equipped culinary arts studio to enhance vocational training for both students and beneficiaries of the DEPOWA Skills Acquisition Centre. Staff welfare was also enhanced through salary increments and healthcare initiatives, including eye screenings for students and cervical cancer screenings for female staff.
“I am proud of all we have achieved together,” she remarked. “And I look forward to doing more, guided by our shared vision for excellence.”
The DEPOWA President extended heartfelt gratitude to the school’s dedicated teaching and non-teaching staff, parents and guardians, and the wider DEPOWA community for their collective contributions to the school’s success.
She also paid special tribute to the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Founder of the Renewed Hope Initiative, Her Excellency Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, describing her as a source of motherly inspiration. Additionally, she expressed deep appreciation to the Chief of Defence Staff and her husband, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, OFR, for his steadfast support of DEPOWA and its educational mission.
Mrs. Musa also acknowledged the Parents and Teachers Association and the Education Committee, chaired by Mrs. Eniola Ekubi, for their supportive roles and valuable guidance.
