CSI Explores Partnership with DICON to Boost Local Defence Production

In a strategic move to strengthen partnerships and explore new opportunities for enhanced local production and self-sufficiency in defence-related products, the Managing Director / Chief Executive Officer(MD/CEO) of Consulting and Supply International( CSI) Mr Fadi Bahsoun paid a courtesy visit to the Director General(DG) Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria( DICON) on Friday 30 May 2025.

DICON Deputy Director Public Information/Media, Lt Col Haruna Mohammed Sani said this on Wednesday in a press statement made available to SpyeTV News in Abuja.

Speaking during the visit, Mr Fadi reiterated the commitment of CSI towards the realisation of a robust partnership with DICON to support local production of military hardware. 

Mr Fadi further assured the DG DICON of seamless collaboration with symbiotic benefits to both establishments. 

Responding during the visit, the DG DICON, Major General Babatunde Ibrahim Alaya, commended the MD CSI for his strategic foresight and collaborations in areas of the production of defence needs for the Armed Forces of Nigeria and other para-military agencies in Nigeria. The DG asserted that the gesture was timely amidst the contemporary security challenges bedevilling Nigerians. 

General Alaya reiterated that the partnership would no doubt accelerate the actualization of the Military Industrial Complex with DICON as the hub, thereby providing the needs of not only the Armed Forces of Nigeria but Africa as a continent. 

The DG DICON further appreciated the entire management of CSI for supporting a cause that will change the fortune of CSI while urging them to continue on the positive trajectory of supporting self-reliance and self-sufficiency in the production of defence-related products. 

Both parties expressed optimism about the potential for a fruitful collaboration, which could lead to significant advancements in Nigeria's defence sector and contribute to the nation's overall development.

This visit underscores the growing interest in Nigeria's defence industry and the potential for local and international partnerships to drive growth and innovation in the sector.
