The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Olukayode Egbetokun, Thursday, decorated six newly promoted Senior Officers with their new ranks of Deputy inspectors General of Police, with an advise that they must lead with purpose, mentor their subordinates and ensure their actions and decisions reflect on wavering loyalty and patriotism.
The newly decorated senior officers were, DIG Sadiq Idris Abubakar Phd, mni, DIG Ben Nebolua Okolo fde, DIG Adebowale Williams, DIG Kwazhi Yakubu Bzigu Dali mni, DIG Adebola Ayinde Hamzat fde, DIG Basil Okwuoma Idegwu, and AIG Kanayo Uzuegbu.
IGP Egbetokun said their appointment is a testament to their hard work, commitment to service and their maintaining clean service record in their career.
"As you assumed this new roles today, I want to urge you to uphold the values that defined the Nigeria police force which are values of professionalism, integrity, fairness, justice, transparency and accountability. Your responsibilities will be daunting, but I have full confidence that you rise up to the challenge.
"You are stepping into these new roles at the critical time in our country when we face a range of security challenges and the citizens are looking up to us to provide the new security. It is not a time to give excuses, but a time to show more commitment to excellence in service delivery.
"Your leadership, must inspire those that look up to you, that's your subordinates and the citizens that we serve.
