IGP Decorates 20 AIGs, 19 CPs, Including Olatunji Disu and Son of Late Victor Olaiya, Prioritize Operational Effectiveness



Another set of newly promoted police officers, 20 Assistant Inspector General of Police AIGs, and 19 Commissioner of Police,CPs were on Tuesday decorated by the Inspector-General of Police, Dr Olukayode Egbetokun, with a charge for them to embrace the operational effectiveness of the force, to work together to build a modern professional police force that embodies excellence, accountability, and service to the people.

The decoration took place today, 25th March 2025 at the Goodluck Jonathan Peace Keeping Hall at Louis Edet House, Force Headquarters, Abuja.

In his remarks the IGP Egbetokun said this significant achievement in the lives and careers of these officers reflect their dedication, hard work, professionalism, and perseverance. 

"As a correlates, the newly promoted officers, I want to however remind you that every promotion comes with increased responsibility. It calls for elevated conduct.
"It's a solemn duty to lead, inspire, and uphold the highest standards of integrity. As the officers, your leadership will directly shape the moral of those on your command and determine the quality of policing of our nation. As you take on these new roads, I urge you to lead by example, set a standard for discipline, ethics, and dedication.

The IGP Egbetokun urged them to take decisive decision and act decisively against misconduct and ensure fairness in all their dealings, anf embrace accountability

He expressed profound appreciation to the Police Service Commission for ensuring that promotion in the police force are no longer delayed.

He thanked the President Bola Tinubu for his steadfast commitment to his better equipped and more efficient police force. "His leadership has been instrumental in the reforms and progress we have continued to witness. To the families of our newly promoted officers, I offer my deepest appreciation.

The AIGs decorated were AIG Fasuba Akinyele Olabode, AIG Ajani Musibau Omolabi, AIG Aliyu Abubakar Musa, AIG Patrick Atayero Adedeji, AIG Gyogon Augustine Grimah, AIG Victor Mobolaji Olaiya (Son of Late Vivtor Olaiya), AIG Chukwudi Ariekpere, AIG Abubakar Sadiq, AIG Olaolu Adegbite, AIG Godwin Igwu Eze, AIG Olatunji Disu Rilwan, AIG Alausa Tolani, AIG Kareem Musa, AIG Mohammed Shehu Dalijan, AIG Dan-Mamman Shawulu, AIG Clement Robert, AIG Thomas Abraham Nabhoni, AIG Abel Jangnap Zwalchir, and AIG Ifeanyi Uka.

In addition, the decorated officers from the rank of Deputy Commissioners of Police to Commissioners of Police are CPs Usman Tahir, Sunday Okoebor, Ayodeji Faniyan, Saka Adewale Ajao, Omole Ola, Hope Okafor, Ajo Geofrey Oroue, Olufunke Ogunbode, Stephen Ogedengbe, Iyabode Oluwatoyin Agbaminoja, Adebowale Lawal, Ojo Adekimi, Yemi Oyeniyi, Obasi Okereke, Moses Ottah, Felix Nnebue, Gazali Abdulsalam, Fidelis Ogarabe, and Olubode Ojajuni.

The IGP said that the officers’ promotion to new ranks is additional responsibility that would help in ensuring a safer country for all citizenry, which Nigeria Police Force keeps working towards in accordance with the rule of law.

In attendance was the Former Senate President, His Excellency David Mark; the Lagos State Governor, His Excellency Babajide Sanwo-Olu, represented by Dr Ayodele Ogunsan; the former Governor of Ekiti State, His Excellency Otunba Niyi Adebayo; former speaker Akwa-Ibom House of Assembly, Rt. POLICE WELFARE: IGP, DIGNITARIES DECORATE 20 AIGs, 19 CPs WITH NEW RANKS.

As IGP Charges Officers to Adopt, Effectively Propagate Positive Reforms.

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Egbetokun Olukayode Adeolu, Ph.D., NPM, with other dignitaries, on Tuesday 25th March 2025 at the Goodluck Jonathan Peacekeeping Hall, Force Headquarters, Abuja, decorated newly promoted Senior Police Officers with their new ranks amidst cheers from their families, friends, and professional colleagues.The officers affected by the promotion included 20 CPs to the rank of AIG and 19 DCs to the substantive rank of CP. 

This is sequel to the recent promotion approved by the Police Service Commission at the request of the IGP, and a continuation of the innovative policies implemented by the IGP which has recorded the most promotions in the Force within the shortest time frame.

The Inspector-General of Police while congratulating the newly promoted officers, charged them to adopt a strategic and progressive approach towards policing, as well as propagating the ongoing positive reforms aimed at enhancing the operational effectiveness of the Force.
