World Education Day: NAFOWA Pays Examination Fee of Students, Shares School Bags, Writing Materials at JSS Asokoro

Over the years, the Nigerian Air Force Officers’ Wives Association (NAFOWA) has succeeded in sponsoring education, health, skill acquisition and vocational training for members and the less privileged while carrying widows of late military personnel along.

To mark the World Education Day which is usually marked on 24th January, the National President, Nigerian Air Force Officers’ Wives Association (NAFOWA), Arch. Mrs Rakiya Abubakar today led the NAFOWA members to Model Secondary Schools, Asokoro to donate school bags, and writing materials and pay the examination fees of some selected students of the school.

The theme for World Education Day 2025 is "AI and education: Preserving human agency in a world of automation", focusing on the importance of education in navigating and influencing technological advancements, particularly in the context of artificial intelligence (AI).

Addressing the students, Mrs Abubakar stressed that the future belongs to those who learn, grow, and yet to make a difference.

"You keep learning. Learning is a continuous process. Learning is what? So you keep learning and learning. Education is the key to a bright future.

It is the foundation that will help you achieve your dreams. Whether you want to become doctors, engineers, lawyers, architects, or even entrepreneurs, or even leaders that will change the world. With knowledge, you can break barriers, shatter ceilings, and go beyond what everyone thinks is impossible.

She said the world is full of challenges and education gives you the tools to overcome it. It teaches you how to think, solve problems, and even creates new opportunities, not just for yourselves or for your families, but for the community and your country and the world at large.

Never let anyone tell you that you cannot succeed. You are strong. You are capable and full of potential." she said

The Nigerian Air Force Officers’ Wives Association (NAFOWA), a non-governmental organisation carried out charitable activities in different communities, across the nation.
