The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has dismissed reports that it plans to destroy over six million uncollected Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) dating back to the 2015 voter registration.
According to INEC, the reports are entirely incorrect, and the Commission has never considered destroying the uncollected PVCs.
The clarification, on its X handle on Sunday, comes after several newspapers published stories suggesting that INEC was contemplating the destruction of the uncollected PVCs.
However, INEC has advised the public to disregard the reports, stating that they are without merit.
