The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has intensified its efforts to combat criminal activities and protect public infrastructure through a series of daily raids across identified black-spots in Abuja.
The crackdown has resulted in the arrest of 348 suspects and the recovery of stolen infrastructure and illegal items.
The operations have yielded significant results, including the prosecution of 320 suspects. Among the recoveries are:
10 trucks loaded with vandalized metals
26 manhole covers and 20 solar/streetlight poles
AEDC armoured cables
Large quantities of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp and assorted drugs
11 firearms
“The sustained efforts of the FCT Police Command have yielded remarkable results. We have disrupted the market for stolen items, reduced drug-related crimes, and eliminated dangerous weapons from circulation,” the police noted.
The FCT Police Command spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, in a statement Tuesday, emphasized the significance of these operations, saying, “As part of its unwavering efforts to combat criminal activities and protect public and private infrastructure within the Federal Capital Territory, the FCT Police Command has carried out a series of strategic raids targeting identified black spots across the territory”.
According to her, the raids have been carried out in 17 areas identified as crime-prone zones.

Angwan Tivi
Mpape (Mashafa and Shishinpe villages)
Durumi III (Burukutu Garden)
Mabushi (Gishiri Village)
Kubwa (by Pipeline and NEPA Road)
Maitama (under the Transcorp Bridge)
Protecting Lives and Infrastructure
Adeh highlighted the objectives of these proactive operations, stating, “The raids are aimed at preventing crimes before they occur, disrupting activities that lead to theft and vandalism, and ensuring a safer environment for residents. By targeting these criminal black-spots, we are protecting critical infrastructure like manhole covers, streetlights, and power cables.”
