To add to the happiness and joy of the season and as part of the 59th Anniversary Celebration, the Naval Officers Wives Association(NOWA) today, on Tuesday, 3 Dec 2024, organised a Medical Rhapsody at Kuje Community, Pengi Kuje, FCT and also donated palliatives like food and household items.
Mrs Ijeoma Ogalla, the President of NOWA, ably represented by Mrs Zainab Akpan, Vice President NOWA led other members of NOWA for a Medical Rhapsody to reach out to the community which is the best way on its anniversary, NOWA at 59.
Mrs Ogalla said "NOWA as an association, this part of what we do, we, as wives of the naval officers, we are usually, bring together the women to hold the home front strong, to make it strong, to fortify our women. By way of reaching out, we reach out to the community and this is the best way we can do it. its usually on our anniversary.
"We are reaching out to the people that are not able to afford some of the things we could do. I know we can't reach out to the whole world, but the little, a little bit, a cup of water is better than none. So that's what we've just done.
In his word, the Youth Leader, Jamiu Ahmed said the community is so happy to see this program, "We can see that the community people have benefited from this program. And we appreciate this organization that were able to take us along to give us this intervention. We are so grateful.
The Community Chief representative, Mr Daniel Samson thanked the NOWA President and her members for the medical outreach and food items shared. He also solicited for youth employment. He appealed to the Chief of Naval Staff to allocate some slot for the community.
