Veteran journalist, Mr Kingsley Omonobi has received the Outstanding Defence Journalist of the year at the Security and Emergency Management Award (SAEMA 2024) in Abuja.
Mr. Kingsley Omonobi is the Defence Editor of Vanguard Newspapers and was honoured alongside with 16 other recipients for their outstanding gallantry, patriotism and other contributions of individuals and institutions to Nigeria’s safety, security and emergency management.
The 6th edition of the SAEMA 2024 award took place today, 28th November, 2024 at the Defence Headquarters, Abuja with the theme, “Leveraging Inter-Agency, Civil-Military Relations,” organised by Emergency Digest, a publication of the award-winning Image Merchants Promotion Limited (IMPR) in collaboration with the Centre for Crisis Communication (CCC).
Omonobi read Mass Communication at Auchi Polytechnic, Edo State and has a Bachelor's Degree, International Relations from Lagos State University, Ojo, Lagos. Has a Masters Degree in Strategic Studies/International Relations from the Atlantic International University, Hawaii, USA.
He covered operations in some Foreign War Zones including Somalia, Rwanda, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Dafur in Sudan and recently, South- Sudan. Hobbies include Sports, Listening to Good Music and Staying Alive
