Just In: Major General AK Ibrahim Becomes Acting Corps Commander Infantry Corps of the Nigerian Army

Major General Abdul Khalifah Ibrahim is the newly appointed as Acting Corps Commander Infantry Corps of the Nigerian Army, takes charge as the substantive Commander Maj Gen OO Oluyede was appointed as Acting COAS.

The Nigerian Army Infantry Corps is the infantry corps of the Nigerian Army and includes regular and reserve force regiments. The unit's headquarters are at Jaji, Nigeria. The Corps is headed by the Commander, Infantry Corps Center (ICC).

Until his appointment, Maj.General Ibrahim served as the Deputy Director General of the National Centre for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons (NCCSALW) at the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) in Abuja

Maj. Gen. Ibrahim of the Nigerian Army has a military career that spans for years. He holds a master's degree in strategic studies from the University of Ibadan and has participated in international peace support operations in Liberia and Sudan.

He served as the Force Commander of the Multi-National Joint Task Force (MNJTF) in the Lake Chad and the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 7 Division, Maiduguri
