Chinese Peacekeepers in South Sudan awarded UN Peace Medal

More than 300 members of the 14th Chinese peacekeeping engineering and medical contingent to South Sudan (Wau) were recently awarded the United Nations Medal of Peace in recognition of their contributions to the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS). 

The award ceremony acknowledged the Chinese peacekeepers' contributions to safeguarding the peace, stability, and development of South Sudan.

"This award ceremony is a high recognition of the hard work our Chinese peacekeeping engineers have put in over the past year, as well as encouragement and commendation for Chinese soldiers actively participating in the peacekeeping mission. 

We will, as always, uphold the Chinese standard, showcase China's image, and faithfully fulfill our peacekeeping mission through concrete actions, contributing even more of Chinese strength to world peace."
