Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has won the Ondo State governorship election.
Aiyedatiwa defeated the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Mr Agboola Ajayi, securing the majority of votes across the state’s 18 local government areas.
He emerged victorious in all the 18 Local Government Areas polling 366,781 votes as against 117,845 votes recorded by his closest rival, Chief Agboola Ajayi, who flew the flag of the Peoples Democratic Party.
Ajayi was Deputy Governor to the now late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu and was succeeded by Aiyedatiwa.
Zenith Labour Party’s Dr. Abass was a far distant third with a paltry 2,692 votes.
