Traditional Rulers Are Vanguards For National Stability - CDS, General Musa

The Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) recently received the Dein of Agbor Kingdom, a prominent traditional ruler in Delta State, Nigeria. During the meeting, the CDS emphasized the vital role traditional institutions play in maintaining national stability.

General Christopher Gwabin Musa while receiving the traditional ruler, described traditional rulers as a vanguards for national stability. 

Director Defence Information, Brig. Gen Tukur Gusau disclosed in a press statement that the CDS appreciated the Monarch for finding time to visit the Defence Headquarters. He further said the Armed Forces of Nigeria ( AFN) will continue to partner with the traditional institutions to achieve it's contitutional mandate. 

He assured the First Class Chief of the AFN readiness to protect the nation territorial integrity in all fronts and to ensure peace and stability in Nigeria. Speaking further, the CDS maintained that the military is willing to address all forms of insecurity in the country. 

Earlier in his remarks, the Dein of Agbor thanked the AFN for their dedication and great services to the nation and beyond. 

He commended the sacrifices by members of the Armed Forces , while thanking the CDS for accepting the apology tendered by the people of Okouma over the killing of military personnel in an unfortunate attack that occured in march, 2024.

Finally, he described the AFN as the pinnacle of the nation while thanking the military for protecting the nation by also ensuring peace, economic growth, and stability. 

The Dein of Agbor Kingdom, Keagborekuzi I, is a respected leader and champion of national stability. His commitment to peace and development has earned him recognition, including the Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) award ¹.

This meeting underscores the importance of collaboration between traditional institutions and the military in achieving national stability. By working together, they can address security challenges and promote a more peaceful Nigeria.
