In the ongoing battle against insurgency in Nigeria's North East region, troops from Sector 2 of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) made a significant effort on Thursday, October 24, 2024.
During a routine stop and search operation troops of 29 Task Force Brigade deployed at Jakana along Damaturu-Maiduguri road intercepted a stolen Mazda commercial bus. The bus, bearing plate registration number Lagos FST 588 XU, was en route from Kwara state to Maiduguri.
The Chief of Staff Headquarters Sector 2 OPHK Brigadier General Ahmed Getso today 28 October 2024, handed over the recovered Bus to the Chairman Central Motor Park Offa Kwara State Mr Afolabi Oye and the owner of the stolen Bus Mr Muraina Mukala on behalf of the Commander Sector 2 OPHK Brigadier General Marcel Ejike at the Headquarters Sector 2 in Damaturu Yobe State.
The arrested suspect is undergoing preliminary investigation before, handing over to the Police for further action.
During the handing and taking over of the recovered vehcile, the Chairman Central Motor Park and owner of the vehicle, revealed that the vehicle was stolen on 18 Oct 24 at his residence at Offa Kwara State.
They appreciated the efforts and commitments of the military in the fight against insurgency and making it possible for them to get their stolen vehicle back to them.
During the handover of the recovered vehicle, the Chairman of Central Motor Park and vehicle owner expressed gratitude to the military for their tireless efforts in combating insurgency, which ultimately led to the recovery of the vehicle stolen from the owner’s residence in Offa, Kwara State on October 18, 2024. The successful recovery was a testament to the military's commitment to restoring peace and stability in the region.
