... brings Hope and Healing in Abia State
As part of efforts to sustain its existing Civil-Military Cooperation activities within its area of responsibility, the Commander 14 Brigade, Brigadier General Olusola Diya, has directed a free surgical operation of one Mrs Chioma Oruoegbulam a native of Isuochi in Umuneochi local government area of Abia State.
14 Brigade, Acting Assitant Director Army Public Relations, Captain Omale Innocent Prince explained that the surgical excision of a huge lipoma was successfully conducted at the 14 Brigade Medical Centre led by Captain Obinna Amadi and other medical experts on Wednesday, 16 October 2024.
The 25-year-old mother of three was diagnosed with a huge lipoma around her back, which, according to her, has been there for the past three years. However, due to the high cost of the procedure, she could not undergo the surgery.
Chioma was overwhelmed with gratitude as she expressed her heartfelt thanks to the Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, 14 Brigade Commander and the Nigerian Army for their kindness in providing her with free medical surgery. "I'm at a loss for words to appreciate this incredible gesture," she said, beaming with joy. The selfless act not only transformed her health but also brought a smile back to her face.
Mrs Chioma further gave an account of how the Army rescued her last year when she was kidnapped by IPOB/Unknown Gunmen. She noted that these are a testament to the Nigerian Army's commitment to serving and protecting its citizens, going above and beyond to make a positive difference in their lives.
The patient is in stable condition at the medical facility and recuperating to treatment.
