The Minister of State for Defence, Dr Bello Muhammed Matawalle, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, and other military chiefs are currently in Sokoto as part of an intensified effort by the federal government to rid the North-west of the menace of banditry, kidnapping and other forms of terrorism.
He was accompanied by the Chief of Defence Staff, General CG Musa, OFR; Chief of Defence Intelligence, Major General Emmanuel Undiandeye; and the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 8 Division, Brigadier General IA Ajose, alongside other very senior military officers.
The Defence Minister, Chief of Defence Staff are receiving briefing from the GOC 8 Division/Force Commander Joint Task Force North West Operation Hadarin Daji, Brig Gen Ajose.
