Troops of Multinational Joint Task Force deployed for counter terrorism operations in the Lake Chad Region have successfully rescued Mrs Gambo Genevieve, Head of Service at the Department of Physical Education in Logone and Chari, Cameroon and bust a key terrorists logistics supplier in Gubio
Chief Military Information Officer, Lt Col Olaniyi Osoba in a press statement on Tuesday revealed that the troops deployed in Mora responded to a distress call from locals in the villages of Gangawa and Kangaleri in Gogolom, Division of Mora.
"Upon arrival, the troops engaged the terrorists, who fled the scene, abandoning their abducted victims. The rescued victims include Mrs Gambo genevieve and 5 others who are presently undergoing medical examination".he added
In a separate operation, troops deployed in sector 3 Mongunu intercepted a Boko Haram Terrorists Logistics supplier identified as Babagana Zaninu in Gubio with a Toyota pickup loaded with assorted food items and illicit drugs.
The items include illicit drugs, soft drinks, sugar, flour, and supplies intended for Boko Haram Fighters assorted food items. The suspected terrorists’ logistics supplier confessed that the items were purchased from Gubio market to be delivered to Gazabure Village in Gubio for the terrorists
These operations highlight the continued commitment of MNJTF forces to neutralize terrorist threats in the Lake Chad region and disrupt critical supply lines that sustain their operations.
