The Commissioner of Police of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Benneth Igweh, has ordered an immediate investigation into the untimely death of an unidentified crossdresser.
The deceased's lifeless body was discovered in the early hours of Thursday along the Katampe- Mabushi Expressway in Abuja.
According to the Command's Spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh in a press statement, a distress call was received by the Command Control Room on August 8, 2024, at around 07:40 am, reporting the sighting of an unresponsive individual believed to be a woman along the Katampe-Mabushi Expressway. A team of detectives was promptly dispatched to the scene.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the individual was, in fact, a man fully dressed in female attire, with no means of identification on his person. The deceased was immediately transported to the Maitama District Hospital, where medical personnel confirmed his demise.
In response to the tragic incident, the Commissioner of Police, FCT, CP Benneth Igweh, has ordered a thorough and discreet investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding the crossdresser's untimely death.
The investigation is currently underway, and the authorities are working diligently to provide more information and a clearer understanding of this unfortunate occurrence.
