In a display of synergy and readiness with sister services and independently operate to combat security threats in Kastina, the Air Component Commander Operation Hadarin Daji, Air Commodore Garba Ibrahim Jibia, a veteran Highlander organized and conducted a Monthly /10KM Route March with Ground Special Operation Forces and personnel at Nigerian Air Force Base, Katsina on the 6th July, 2024.
The exercise was part of precursor activities with the quest to keep the ground forces at their peak of physical fitness in order to face all the challenges of insecurity in the North West, particularly and to enhance synergy and cooperation amongst all security agencies for a safer Katsina
The event, which was flagged off at the Headquarters, Air Component Operation Hadarin Daji in Katsina Metropolis, pooled over 600 air Force personnel and covered 10 kilometres within the metropolis.
Addressing the participants shortly after the exercise, the Commander, Air Component Operation Hadarin Daji, Air Commodore Jibia noted that the exercise is in line with the vision and Command Philosophy of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar as well as the Chief of Defence Staff, General CG Musa to promote combat readiness of troops and to make personnel physically and mentally fit to face all the attributes of insecurity in the North West.
As such, the exercise will be conducted every month in order to ensure the physical readiness of the troops of OPHD in Kastina State.
The Commander also expressed happiness to all officers, Airmen and women for their unwavering dedication and cooperation in improving the security situation in Katsina State and environs.
He affirmed the commitment of the Air Component Operation Hadarin Daji to continue to work in harmony and to ensure that Katsina State remains safe and secure for all residents.
The momentous event not only underscores the efforts of Operation Hadarin Daji's strive to fight insurgency in the North West but to promote physical fitness amongst personnel.
