Police Arrest 34 yr Old Man Behind Viral TikTok Video Inciting Violence Ahead of Planned Protest

The Plateau State Police Command has arrested a man, Suleiman Yakubu, 34, linked to a viral TikTok video that encouraged violence and attacks on security operatives and infrastructure in the state during the planned nationwide protest.

The video, posted on the “Dam-Mallam68” TikTok account, caught the attention of the police on July 27, 2024.

Commissioner of Police, CP Emmanuel Olugbemiga Adesina, promptly launched an investigation, leading to Yakubu’s arrest on July 28, 2024, at Ahmadu Bello Way, Jos.

Yakubu confessed to being the person in the video while in custody. The police are still on going with their investigation.

CP Adesina warned that the police will resist any attempts to disrupt peace in the state during the protest.

He urged residents to remain law-abiding and report any suspicious activities to the provided emergency numbers.

The Plateau State Police Command also encouraged the public to report any misconduct by officers through the Complaint Response Unit numbers.
