Operation Lake Sanity 2: FC MNJTF Charges Troops to Remain Vigilant and Cautious

The Force Commander of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), Maj Gen Ibrahim Sallau Ali, has emphasized the importance of staying vigilant and cautious, expressed confidence in the collective capabilities of the troops to eradicate terrorism in the region.

General Ali made this known on 14 May 2024, when he conducting an operational visit to the frontline troops engaged in Operation Lake Sanity 2 at Baga, Cross Kauwa, and Malam Fatori in Borno State, Nigeria. 

Lieutenant Col Abubakar Abdullahi, the Chief Military Public Information Officer in a press statement revealed that Maj Gen Ali highlighted the significant reduction in the strength of Boko Haram, noting that their reliance on Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) underscores their weakened state.

To counter this threat, Gen Ali revealed the introduction of measures designed to outmaneuver the adversaries.

The Lake Chad Basin, with its profound importance to ecological balance, economic sustenance, and cultural heritage, deserves no less.
