NACOLM Commandant Cautions Personnel on Senior Leadership and Staff Officers’ Course 2/2024 to Avoid academic Fraud

The Commandant, Nigerian Army College of Logistics and Management (NACOLM) Major General Wisdom Etuk on Monday 29 April, 2024 has cautioned students on the risk of plagiarism, urging them to be original in their submission and acknowledge any work they consult to avoid academic fraud. 

General Wisdom Etuk gave the charge while inaugurating the Senior Leadership and Staff Officers’ Course 2/2024 comprising of 105 officers of the Nigerian Army (NA) with one allied male student from the Gambian Army respectively. 

College PRO, Major George Okupe in a press statement noted that the event was held at the Tukur Yusuf Buratai Hall, NACOLM permanent site Ojo, Lagos.

 

While delivering his inaugural address, Major General Etuk stressed that the College frowns at plagiarism and will take severe action against such acts.

He disclosed that the College was established in December 2002 with the initial mandate of training Logisticians. 

He added that following the expansion of the courses run in the College with the addition of leadership and staff officers courses, the mandate was modified ‘To produce knowledgeable logisticians and staff-trained officers with requisite leadership skills that are capable of effectively discharging their duties in both joint and combined military operations at formation and higher levels using contemporary management concepts and techniques’. 

Major General Etuk reiterated that the course will run for 9 months, adding that the course is well loaded and time is not on their side. 

He further stressed that time is a resource that must be utilized and not to be taken for granted while in the College. He urged the students to efficiently plan, manage and use their time properly.

While delivering the Inaugural Lecture, the Guest lecturer, Major General Wisdom Etuk delivered a lecture titled ‘The Making of an Effective Leader and Staff Officer for Joint Operating Environment’. 

General Etuk spoke on some attributes of operational level officers, SLSOC contributions to the development of operational level officers and field observations on staff trained operational level officers.


In attendance were Deputy Commandant/Director of Studies of the College Brigadier General JIB Manjang, Director of Administration NACOLM Brigadier General OJ Majebi, Commander Central Vehicle Depot (CVD) Brigadier General M Isah, Commandant Nigerian Army College of Medical Sciences Brigadier General S Anyogo, Acting Director Management, Leadership and Staff Studies Colonel S Julius, Commanding Officers within Ojo Cantonment, Chief Instructors, Members of Directing Staff and Administrative Staff, representatives from professional bodies and College partners (CILT and SOTAL LASU) and student officers amongst others.
