CDS, General Musa Emphasises Militarys' Desire to Partner Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security to an end Contentious farmer/ herders Conflicts


The Chief of Defence Staff ( CDS) General Christopher Gwabin Musa has emphasised the Armed Forces of Nigeria AFN desire to work with the Ministry of Agriculture and food Security to bring to an end the contentious farmer/ herders conflicts. 

General Musa in his approach to leadership which is peoples centric said this when he paid a courtesy visits to the ministers of Agriculture and food Security right after his visit to the Ministry of Works and Housing. 

General Musa, while speaking at the Ministry of Agriculture and food security, showed appreciation to the minister for the ministry's giant efforts in  addressing food security in the country.  

Director Defence Information, Brig. General Tukur GusauT in a press statement disclosed that the Defence Chief also informed the Minister of the rediness of the  Defence Headquarters to establish Defence Farms  to encourage members of the Armed Forces to embrace farming culture.

The minister of Agriculture, Senator Abubakar Kyari who received the CDS in company of the minister of state, Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi thanked Gen. Musa for being the first  Chief of Defence Staff to visit the ministry. 

He seized the opportunity to inform the CDS of government policies aimed towards improving food security in Nigeria. Senator Kyari also commended the Armed Forces of Nigeria,  AFN for ensuring the safe return of farmers back to the farm lands. 

He further maintained that citizens move freer now than before. He called for the need to collaborate more with Armed Forces of Nigeria AFN to ensure food sufficiency in our nation.
