INEC Cooperative Society, President Win Awards

The Kaduna State branch of the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) Staff Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society, has won the 2023 Most Outstanding Cooperative Society in the Civil Service Sector Award, while its President and Head of ICT Department (HoD) in Kaduna State, Mr. Umar Buhari Ali also clinched the Exemplary Leadership Award of Excellence for Cooperative Management and Development.

The INEC Cooperative Society emerged following a comprehensive five-year assessment of the activities of all Cooperative Societies in the country by the Cooperative Rating Association of Nigeria (CRASoN).

After the initial nationwide assessment, CRASoN also scrutinized the winner’s profile and subjected its findings to voting by the CRASoN Panel of Jury and Assessors

Ali received the awards at the elaborate 5th National Cooperative Awards Dinner and Patrons Investiture Ceremony, which took place at the NECA Event Centre, Ikeja, Lagos State on 19th November 2023.

Subsequently, Ali came to the INEC Headquarters earlier today to formally present the awards to the Hon. Chairman, INEC, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, who commended him and his colleagues for achieving the feat, and encouraged them to continue to work hard and win more laurels for the Commission.

National Commissioner, Dr. Baba Bila, Secretary to the Commission, Mrs Rose Orianran-Anthony and Director, Administration, Mrs Olaide Okuonghae witnessed the presentation.
