Army Chief Urges Community to Maintain Infrastructures Donated by Nigerian Army

The Chief of Army Staff Nigerian Army (COAS) Lt Gen Taoreed  Lagbaja  has urged the host community to ensure that the newly built Multipurpose Hall receives adequate maintenance to serve the purpose of its construction. 

The COAS made the call  during the commissioning ceremony of Nigerian Army special intervention projects in Ojah Community in Akoko Edo Local Government Area of Edo State.

The COAS who was represented by the General Officer Commanding 2 Division Maj Gen Valentine Okoro remarked  that by having a good and cordial relationship with the civil populace, the Nigerian Army places great importance on Non-Kinetic lines of operation, especially in the host communities where military operations are conducted. 

In his welcome remarks, Maj Gen BN Salami; the facilitator of the project, thanked the COAS for honouring him with the  Quick Intervention Project in his Community. He further urged the community to make good use of the Multipurpose Hall and to ensure adequate maintenance is carried out from time to time.

Highpoints of the occasion include the unveiling of the commissioning plaque, the cutting of the commissioning tape, the presentation of souvenirs and cultural display. 

Important dignitaries that graced the occasion include the  Commander Corps of Supply and Transport Maj Gen AA Adeyinka, the Chief of Civil Military Affairs Maj Gen MC Ugbo, the Commandant Nigerian Army School of Supply and Transport Brig Gen ND Shagaya, the Commandant NASEME Brig Gen O Arogundade, the Commander 4 Brigade Brig Gen DH Ndahi, other senior officers both serving and retired, the Oba of Ojah Community, and a host of titled holders from the community.
