.... As 16 Brigade Commander Charges Troops to Remain Decisive Against Criminals

In a joint a collaboration, the 16 Brigade Nigerian Army/ Sector 2 Joint Task Force (South-South) Operation Delta Safe and the Nigeria Police, Nigeria Security Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have concluded an Internal Security (IS) Tactical Exercise Without Troops (TEWT) organized by 16 Brigade, aimed at promoting inter-agency cohesion and camaraderie in a joint setting.

The week-long Exercise which brought together participants from affiliated units of the BRIGADE, sister services of the Armed Forces of Nigeria and other security agencies took place between over the weekend.

In his remarks at the closing ceremony of the TEWT, Brigadier General Yakasai emphasized that the TEWT was organized to enrich the participants’ knowledge on internal security operations  in a contemporary security environment in line with command philosophy of the Chief of Army Staff, Major General TA Lagbaja, which is “To transform the Nigerian Army into a well-trained, equipped and highly motivated force towards achieving our constitutional responsibilities within a joint environment".

The Commander 16 Brigade Nigerian Army/ Sector 2 Joint Task Force (South-South) Operation Delta Safe Brigadier General Sadisu Yakasai, also charged troops and operatives of other security agencies to remain decisive and ruthless against criminal elements in Bayelsa State.

This, he added was crucial, considering the current dynamics of today’s contemporary security challenges.

In attendance at the TEWT were the Brigade Commander, Chief of Staff 16 Brigade, Commanding Officers, staff officers, representatives of sister services and security agencies within Bayelsa State.

There was indoor presentations on various aspects of Internal Security by selected resource persons, outdoor practical sessions, presentation of certificates of participation, and a special demonstration on crowd dispersal drill by the participants.
