"Be Ready to Face the Music" - New CDS, Maj. General Musa Tells Terrorists, As Troops Kill Six in Borno

The new Chief of Defence Staff, Major General Christopher Musa has warned terrorists, bandits, criminal elements and anyone who doubts the determination of the armed Forces of Nigeria to be ready to face the music and bare the consequence, noting the Nigerian military will continue to improve on its mandate of sustaining peace and tranquilly in the country.

The CDS declared this while speaking to Defence Correspondents in Abuja, shortly after he took over command as the 18th Chief of Defence Staff from his predecessor, General Lucky Irabor.

The newly appointed CDS stressed that the armed Forces of Nigeria is highly professional and ready to combat any terrorists because troops will be out in full force to safeguard the territorial integrity of the country.

“As the CDS, my promise to Nigeria is that we’ll continue to improve on our mandate of sustaining peace and tranquility in our country.

“I will assure every Nigerian to feel safe that the armed forces are up and doing and are highly professional and will be there for them.

“Nobody should doubt our determination to bring peace to Nigeria and anybody, especially the criminals, bandits, terrorists who thinks otherwise should be ready to face the music.. 

The CDS commended the outgoing Chief of Defence Staff and all principal staff and other services for a job well done. He said the armed forces has improved dramatically. He said the welfare of troops will be treated with utmost priority as his administration will continue from where they stopped. 

"I will ensure our troops, our men, wherever they are, they will never be left alone. I will ensure that we give them what they need, what they require. Issue of the administration will be taking care.

Meanwhile in what seems like a renewed hope for Borno Communities, Nigerian troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) in the North-East,in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) have on 22nd June, 2023 killed six Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists in Banki town, Bama local government area of Borno State.

Military Intelligence said the terrorists killed were those fighters that usually set Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), ambush attack for the Nigerian troops.
