Seun Kuti Replies IGP - 'I Will Co-operate Fully With The Investigation'

Nigerian Afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti, has pledged to cooperate fully with the Nigeria police after the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, ordered his arrest.

The order came after Kuti was captured assaulting an officer in a viral video.

In the video that emerged on Saturday, Kuti was seen pointing to the unidentified police officer before proceeding to push and slap the officer.

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, had later ordered the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command to arrest Afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti, who was captured on video assaulting a police officer in uniform. 

Confirming this order by IGP Usman Alkali Baba to SpyeTV News, the Force Public Relations Officer CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi in a press statement on Saturday revealed that the IGP has equally ordered a speedy and full investigation into the remote and immediate cause(s) of the assault and prosecution of the suspect accordingly. 

He said, the IGP Usman Alkali Baba assures Nigerians that acts of contempt/disdain for symbols of authority will not be tolerated while offenders of such hideous crimes will be surely brought to book.
