Nigerian Army Reassures Increased Security Backings For NYSC Scheme

The Commander 35 Artillery Brigade, Brigadier General MT Aminu has on Tuesday, 18 April 2023 in Ogun State, assured maximum support and an increased security backings for National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Scheme in the state.

General Aminu made this pledge when he received the Ogun State Coordinator NYSC, Mrs Winifred Ngozi Shokpeka at the Brigade headquarters in Alamala. 

Speaking during the visit, Mrs Winifred Ngozi Shokpeka expressed her profound gratitude to the commander for the protection of corps members during the recently concluded 2023 General Elections. She stated that the scheme remain grateful to the Commander who has always provided adequate security during orientation camps. She also commended the high level of discipline and professionalism exhibited by officers and men involved in the training of corps members during orientation camps. 

While appreciating the support and relentless efforts of officers and men in ensuring tranquility of the scheme in the 

state, she equally urged them to instill right mentoring of the youth to boost national development.

General Aminu in his remarks promised that the long lasting partnership and synergy between the scheme and the Army will remain cordial in the state. Moreso, he averred that the next batch of the orientation camp would be trained in discipline, Leadership, mentorship geared towards preparing their minds on real life situation of post service life in order to be productive for national development. 

Additionally, General Aminu stated that rules, regulations, ethics, dress code and conduct of the orientation camp should be clearly spelled out according to the approved standard of the scheme and the personnels deployed to ensure compliance during the orientation cadre. 

Highlights of the visit includes presentation of souvenirs, signing of visitors’ book and group photograph.
