The Lake Chad basin Commission, LCBC on Wednesday, treated the outgone Force Commander, Multinational Joint Task Force MNJTF, Major Gen Abdul Khalifah Ibrahim to a farewell dinner and awards, presentation of gifts to honour him for his leadership and meritorious service to the Lake Chad Basin Region.
The farewell dinner took place at the prestigious Raddison Blue Hotel Ndjamena after the official handing and taking over which involved signing of Hand over notes, handing over Command flag and decoration with the MNJTF badges at the MNJTF headquarters.
The Gallant Army General who took over the command of the force from erstwhile commander, Maj.-Gen. Jeleel Ogunlade on 6th August 2021 handed over the Force command to Major General Gold Chibuisi called for same support to the new Force Commander whom he described as a sound infantry General who will succeed in his missions.
Maj-General Ibrahim thanked all for their cooperation and support to him, which enabled him to achieve much.
The Special Guest of Honour, the Chadian Chief of Defence Staff who was represented by his Deputy at the farewell dinner also congratulated the General Ibrahim for a successful tenure as Forces Commander with track record.
Dignitaries at the farewell dinner also showered encomium on the outgone Force Commander respectively in English and French Languages.
In attendance were Ambassadors of Nigeria and Niger Republic, Representative of US Ambassador, EU Ambassador to Chad, Heads of International Organizations, Deputy Force Commander DFC, COS and so on.
