Army Trains Personnel on Advance and Quick Attack Tactical in a Counter Terrorism and Counter Insurgency Environment

The Nigerian Army has trained students of Senior Leadership and Staff Officers Course (SLSOC) 1/23 on the planning and conduct of advance and quick attack in a Counter Terrorism and Counter Insurgency (CTCOIN) environment.

This is part of tactics phase packages lined up for students of Senior Leadership and Staff Officers Course (SLSOC) 1/23. 

SpyeTV reports that, the students were on Thursday 27 April 2023 exposed to exercise Advance and Quick Attack at Brigade level Tactical Exercise Without Troops (TEWT) within the general area of Nigerian Army School of Music (NASM) Ojo Cantonment, Lagos. 

The exercise was in continuation of the map exercise the students had conducted recently which was a one day outdoor exercise (real time scenario) was designed to train the student officers on the planning and conduct of advance and quick attack in a Counter Terrorism and Counter Insurgency (CTCOIN) environment. 

More so, the exercise was conducted to test the students’ on their understanding of the subject earlier taught (presentation and demonstration) on preparation for battle, selection of staging areas for attack and conduct of a quick estimate, delivery of radio orders for the conduct of a quick attack.

It also test the students on the deployment and employment of support arms in advance and quick attack.

The exercise had in attendance the Deputy Commandant/Director of Studies, Brig Gen AJ Aliyu, Director of Administration/Logistics, Brig Gen OJ Majebi amongst other faculty members. The Deputy Commandant had a walk round probing students on their submissions. The exercise was a success and it was rounded up with an exercise wash up.
