The Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association (NAOWA) Guards Brigade Chapter has felicitated with the Commander Guards Brigade as he clocks 50 years of age and to also use the opportunity to present the road map of her tenure as Zonal Coordinator to the Commander on how best to move NOAWA Guards Brigade forward.
Assistant Director Army Public Relations Officer Guards Brigade, Captain Godfrey Anebi Abakpa in a press statement on Tuesday said the Zonal Coordinator, Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association (NAOWA) Guards Brigade Chapter Mrs Fatima Umar along with her Exco members today 14 March 2023 paid a courtesy visit to the Commander Guards Brigade as part of her maiden visit on assumption of office.
Mrs Fatima Umar noted that the visit is special as it provides them the opportunity to celebrate the senior officer who clocks 50 years on earth adding that the birthday also coincided with her planned visit to the Commander as she starts her tour of the Brigade Area of Responsiblity since she assumed office as the Zonal Coordinator NAOWA Guards Brigade.
While thanking God for keeping the senior officer as well as his household and adding another year to his life ,she further appreciated the Commander and his team for always responding and providing the needed support to NAOWA Guards Brigade.
Mrs Umar informed the Commander and his team that NAOWA can only do better when the get the desired support from the command stressing that they would continue to solicit for more support to enhance the living standards of personnel family under the brigade.
She also prayed to God to continue to keep the Commander and all officers of the Brigade as well as the men while assuring them that NAOWA and Nigerian Army Soldiers Wives Association (NASWA) members would continue to provide the needed moral and spiritual support to enable them discharge their assigned duties successfully.
Responding, the Commander Guards Brigade, Brigadier General Aminu Umar while appreciating the team for the special visit expressed gratitude to God for keeping him thus far and for blessing him and his family with good health.
The Commander appreciated the Zonal Coordinator and members of her team to share with him on the special day emphasising that the family unit is the most important in the life of any successful man.
He urged them to remain stedfast providing strong support to the men who are always in the field while enjoining all officers to continue to cultivate good relationships that would last a life time with their colleaques and families.
Brigadier General Umar assured the team of his strong will to always provide the needed support when ever called upon while urging them to build on the good legacies and achievement recorded by her predecessors.
Climax of the event was the presentation of gift items by the Zonal Coordinator as well, the Chief of Staff also presented gift items to the Commander on behalf of the officers and men of Guards Brigade to comemorate the special Birthday celebration.Guests were also treated to a sumptuous Lunch as the event went on.
