The executive members of Kano Peace Committee have commended the efforts of the personnel of 3 Brigade Nigerian Army (NA) formation on the peaceful electioneering process enjoyed during the Presidential and National Assembly election in the state.
The team, led by its Chairman, Abubakar Mahmud SAN gave this commendation when he led his entourage to the 3 Brigade Nigerian Army (NA) at the Headquarters 3 Brigade, Kano State.
Abubakar Mahmud SAN said the professionalism displayed was a top-notch in response to distress calls and curtailing security threat within the state during the election.
He further solicited for more support and the committee's plan to further engage stakeholders within the state to always remember the peace accord memorandum signed by the political parties to curtail political thuggery, electoral violence and criminal activities during and after the forthcoming gubernatorial election
In his response, Commander 3 Brigade Nigerian Army (NA), Brigadier General Jamiu Olayinka said "the constitutionalq roles of the NA is to provide military aid to civil authority". He further said, ensuring free, fair and peaceful conduct of the election is a national task that must be carried out by the NA in conjunction with sister sevices and other security agencies while abiding by the code of conduct guiding the electioneering process.
He then assured the committee of the support of the Brigade on timely response to any security threat in order to continue to enjoy the relative peace and conducive atmosphere as law abiding citizens.
