Troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) deployed in Mafa have successfully repelled attacks by ISWAP terrorists in Ajiri, in Mafa LGA of Borno State.
The failed attack was coordinated by one Abou Muhammed in response to the killing of 41 fighters and a top-ranking ISWAP Commander after OPHK troops stormed their enclaves in Mukdolo and Bone villages on March 26.
According to YATAB Network the terrorists reportedly stormed the town at night on Wednesday March 29, 2023 and attempted an attack on the military base which resulted in a heavy gun battle with the troops
Troops however overwhelmed the terrorists with superior firepower, successfully repelling the attack while equally inflicting serious fatalities on the overpowered fighters.
Consequently, the terrorists staged another ambush on a reinforcement team deployed from Mafa. Again, the troops repelled the ambush forcing the terrorists to flee.
One member of Civilian JTF was injured in the encounter.
