The Chief Imam and Chairman Islamic Preaching Board, Borno State, Imam Laisu Ibrahim Ahmed and Chairman, Christian Association of Nigerian (CAN) Borno State, Most Reverend John Bakeni have pledged their continuous support and cooperation to the military in Borno State.
They gave the pledge in a separate events when the Theatre Commander Joint Task Force (JTF) North East (NE) Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) Major General Ibrahim Ali on Tuesday, 28 February, 2023, paid a courtesy visit to religious leaders in Borno State.
The religious leaders both acknowledged and commended the efforts of the military in restoring peace and normalcy to the entire North Eastern region of Nigeria.
In his remarks, the Theatre Commander disclosed that his visits to the religious leaders was informed by the need to introduce himself to them, having taken over command on the 28th January 2023 as the new Theatre Commander OPHK. Furthermore, Maj Gen Ali used the opportunity to seek for more synergy and support in the ongoing Counter Terrorism and Counter Insurgency Operations (CTCOIN) in the NE from the religious leaders.
In the entourage of the Theatre Commander is the Theatre Logistics Component Commander, Brig Gen EJ Ikomi; the Theatre Intelligence Coordinator, Brig Gen OM Azuikpe; the Commander NA UAV, Col I Sule and Principal Staff Officers of Headquarters Theatre Command OPHK.
SpyeTV News reports that Theatre Commander OPHK's visit is in an effort to sustain the cordial relationship amongst critical stakeholders and enhance non-kinetic operations as well as civil military cooperation.
