Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have anihilated several terrorists following an aggressively executed counter-attack during a mid-night raid by Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists on Mafa LGA in Borno State.
This comes few hours after Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno, left the town after he casted his vote at his polling unit at Unit 001 Ajari Ward, in Mafa.
It was gathered that scores of the armed ISWAP terrorists, who stormed the town in gun trucks and motorcycles, attempted to attack the military formation and INEC Collation Centre at about 2am.
An Intelligence Source told the YATAB Network that the terrorists however met their waterloo when the tactically superior troops, outmaneuvered and engaged them with superior gunfire, killing several of them on the spot.

The source also added that that Air Task Force fighter jets dispatched to the scene, bombarded the fleeing terrorists, also killing a huge number while few who managed to flee, left with fatal wounds.
Local sources later disclosed that the bullet ridden and charred bodies of no fewer than 60 terrorists, littered the area of the engagement.
It was also disclosed that the victorious troops recovered one hilux truck, as well as several weapons and ammunition from the terrorists.
