Atleast three soldiers from the 152 Battallion Operation Hadin Kai died after stepping on a roadside improvised explosive device in North East of Banki in Bama Local Government Areas of Borno State.
It was gathered that four more soldiers were wounded by the IED which truck's the convoy of the troop during a fighting patrol in the early hourz of Thursday, March 16, 2023.
A source who took part in the troops' clearance operations told Zagazola Makama, a Counter-Insurgency Expert and Security Analyst in the Lake Chad region that one hilux vehicle was damaged by the explosive.
He said "It was indeed a very sad day for us as three of our soldiers paid the supreme price in an early morning landmines planted by Boko Haram
