The military has tasked Nigerians to provide more intelligence to the security agencies to isolate bandits collaborators, informants in order to eliminate bandits in their communities especially as there have been increased in women collaborating with bandits in recent time as there have been reports of the infiltrating bandits are closely collaborating with some insidious Informants within communities to attack them.

There has been and fast growing numbers of women involving in terrorism as collaborators, because women have received little attention in the study of terrorist activity, women in combat, both in Africa and the West, have often been assumed to be bystanders or victims, rather than perpetrators, more recent use of women by Boko Haram in West Africa and its attacks on the Nigerian state.

At a biweekly media briefing today, 9 March 2023 on troops activities and operational successes being recorded in the various operational theaters within the 6 geo-political zones of the Country, the Director, Defence Media Operation, Major General Musa Danmadami disclosed that, Out of 1,332 surrendered terrorists in North East, 411 were adult females, while 699 children and 222 adult males.

Even though women were known to belong to armed robbery gangs where they carry guns, or pretend to be sick on a deserted road to get sympathy from motorists who eventually fall victim, for them to help in the perpetuation of banditry in their communities is beyond comprehension.

SpyeTV News looked closely at todays briefing that covers operational activities of the Armed Forces of Nigeria and other security agencies conducted in addressing the various security challenges across the Country between the period of 23 February - 9 March 2023

In North East Zone, the troops of Operation Hadin Kai on 23 February - 8 March 2023, ambushed Boko Haram Terrorists as well as intercepted 35 terrorists logistics suppliers in villages within Marte, Konduga, Bama, Biu, Monguno and Gwoza Local Government Areas of Borno State. Following the encounter, troops neutralized 8 Boko Haram/Islamic State of West Africa Province Terrorists while other fled. 

Based on credible intelligence on 24 February 2023, troops while on ambush position apprehended a Boko Haram Terrorists commander alongside his wife and 4 children at Gwoza town in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State. Two AK47 rifles loaded with 12 rounds of refilled 7.62mm special ammunition, one bandolier, 10 rounds of fabricated 7.62mm ammunition, 7 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition and one mobile phone were recovered from them.

In the North Central zone, Troops of Operation SAFE HAVEN and WHIRL STROKE on patrol at Okehi town in Okenne Local Government Area of Kogi State on 25 February 2023 arrested 8 political thugs in an attempt to disrupt the electoral process. Troops recovered 3 pump action guns, 2 locally fabricated AK 47 rifles, 6 locally made assorted guns and 2 daggers.

Troops of operation HADARIN DAJI and other operations in the North West Zone on 24 February 2023, on patrol at Gusau in Gusau Local Government Area of Zamfara State intercepted a female bandit collaborator who was enroute Taraba State with the sum N1,093,000.00 only concealed in a cosmetic bag.

Insecurity in Nigeria has gone full circle in recent years, due to the countrywide emergence and domination of various non-state armed groups, nevertheless, the military operations in the 6 Geopolitical zones of the country have continued to clamp down on the activities of criminal elements in the past 2 weeks, both kinetic and non-kinetic operations were conducted in the various theatres of operations, with significant results recorded. 

While some women are gullible, some schemes like die- hard criminals, you would wonder; are these women, who are supposed to nurture life, family, have compassion? Who are not supposed to have criminal intention to harm anybody, much less collaborate with murderous criminals, are these women who are supposed to be called mothers fondly because they are bestowed by nature to be called so?
