OPERATION HADIN KAI: THEATRE COMMANDER COMMENCES MAIDEN OPERATIONAL AND FAMILIARIZATION VISITS IN THE THEATRE
The Theatre Commander ( TC ) Joint Task Force (JTF) North East (NE) Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) Major General Ibrahim Ali, has duly commended the Air Component for the crucial roles being played in support of the Operation and requested for its sustenance in order to record more Successes in the fight against the insurgents while paying special tribute to Fallen Heroes at the Memorial Wall.
Major General Ibrahim Ali who embarked on familiarization visits to Formations and Units under Command on assumption of Office as the 12th Theatre Commander of the Operation first point of call was the Air Component of OPHK at the Nigerian Airforce Base where the TC was briefed on the operational activities of the Air Component in support of OPHK.
The TC was thereafter conducted round the facilities at the Base by the Air Component Commander (ACC) Air Commodore OO Oyesola.
In his remarks, Major General Ali stated that having assumed Command of OPHK, he saw the urgent need to set the ball rolling by embarking on familiarization visits to Formations and Units in order to familiarize himself with troops and also assess the Operational readiness of troops.
The Visits were aimed at assessing the operational readiness of troops under command, especially with regards to the impending OPHK activities and OP SAFE CONDUCT in respect of the forth-coming General Elections.
He also has visited the detention facility where he expressed total satisfaction with the ongoing activities in the facility and also used the opportunity to interact with the inmates.
Similarly, the Theatre Commander was at Giwa Barracks, where he was received by the Commanding Officer (CO) 73 Battalion, Lt Col FC Aya before proceeding to the Joint Investigation Centre where he was briefed and conducted round the detention facility by Captain OH Adeniyi on behalf of the Commander JIC Lt Col AU Ahmed.
During his remarks, the Theatre Commander commended the good work of the Commander JIC and urged him to sustained the effort and also improved on it as he further promised to add value to the facility.
In the same vein, the TC also visited 212 Battalion Tank Shade in Maimalari Cantonment and was received, briefed and conducted round the facility by Major AN Mohammed, the OC 212 Vehicle Holding Unit.
Present during the visits were the Theatre Logistics Component Commander (TLCC) Brig Gen IE Ikomi, the Theatre Intelligent Coordinator ( TIC ) Brig Gen OM Azuikpe, Commander 105 Air Composite Group NAF Maiduguri, Air Commodore EP Bindul and Principal Staff Officers of Headquarters Theatre Command.
