Security Agencies Assures Violence-Free 2023 Election

Niger State Police Command says it is leaving no stone unturned at ensuring a hitch free 2023 general election in all the 25 local government councils of the state.

This is in furtherance to the directive given by the Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba to Commissioners of Police to ensure a violent free election across the country.

The Commissioner of Police In Charge of Niger State, Ogundele Ayodeji stated this at an Inter Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security Meeting held in Minna, the Niger state capital.

Ogundele Ayodeji, explained that the meeting is geared towards strengthening cooperation amongst various security agencies saddled with the responsibility of providing security for a free, fair, and credible general elections.

According to him, it would also served as an avenue where heads of security agencies review security situation of the State and brainstorm on pooling resources together.

He noted that strategic deployment of security personnel and operational assets with constant supervision of officers scheduled for the general election would be done.

Some of the security agencies that were present at the meeting include the Military, Department of State Services DSS, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC , Nigeria Correctional Service, Immigration and Customs Service, NDLEA, FRSC and Fire Service.
