A combined efforts of air and land security forces have on Saturday midnight foiled an attack on a military cantonment at Wawa, Niger State.
Military intelligence source the terrorists came with a vehicle loaded with Improvised Explosive Devices.
The signal read in part, “Two Motorola radios were captured, an unconfirmed number of ammunition were recovered, and two vehicles; one of the vehicles was laden with IED, bombs, and an aircraft gun.
“The facility and commodities are safe. NAF’s super Tucano and surveillance aircraft are on patrol around the area.”
Two terrorists were killed during a gun duel that ensued between the terrorists and the military troops.
Our source said several terrorists fled with gunshot wounds and a manhunt had been launched for them.
“Some were arrested immediately after the foiled attack, while more were arrested in Gada Oli bush on Sunday afternoon,” the source added.
