With concerted efforts toward strategising Nigerian Army schools for optimal performance in line with the vision of the Chief of Army Staff, the Chief of Training (Army)Major General AB Ibrahim has charged Commandants of Nigerian Army training institutions to brainstorm on new innovative ideas that will reposition the Nigerian Army schools.
This has become imperative, especially with the recent increase in requests for training support from other countries and some security agencies, he said. General Ibrahim gave the charge on Tuesday, 4 September 2022, while declaring open the Year 2022 Courses Scheduling Conference for the Nigerian Army Schools held at the Army Headquarters Command Officers Mess 1 Abuja.
He said the conference provided ample opportunity for the Commandants to brainstorm and develop proposals for either additional vacancies or the introduction of new courses that will aid the NA schools in producing better and well-trained personnel.
He further said that the conference would serve as a forum for the participants to appraise the performance of the NA Schools within the period under review and make projections for the following year's schools' activities.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Commander TRADOC NA, Major General SO OLABANJI, represented by the Chief of Training, TRADOC NA, Major General JAL Jimoh, said the Conference would provide a robust platform for interaction among Commandants with the sole aim of considering new study areas that can add values in various training schools.
General Olabanji urged the participants to offer suggestions and proposals that would galvanise their zeal and interest and provide viable options for effective and efficient service delivery towards the overall operations of the NA Schools.
Adding that new courses will be introduced into the schools curriculum to surmount the contemporary security challenges currently bewildering the nation.
He thanked the COAS for his continuous support to TRADOC NA and, most especially provision of resources to organise the conference and other programmes.
Present at the event were Commandants of Nigerian Army Schools, some Principal Staff Officers from the Department of Army Training at Army Headquarters and Headquarters TRADOC NA.
