Nigerian Army Commends President Buhari For Logistics, Training Support

Lieutenant General Farouk Yahaya, the Chief of army staff, commended President Muhammadu Buhari for his tireless efforts to ensure that the workforce is operationally reliable and effective so that they can carry out their duties in the nation.

Yahaya made this remark at the 13th Biennial Training Conference of the Nigerian Army Finance Corps in 2022, which was held at the Abati Barracks of the Nigerian Army Ordnance Corps in Ojuelegba, Lagos.

The Nigerian Army has benefited greatly from President Muhammadu Buhari’s unwavering support and encouragement.

The COAS said that the training conference offered a special platform for developing capabilities, knowledge, and skills in financial management in line with international best practices.

He said the training was specifically designed to improve the capacity and competencies of officers to enable them operate optimally towards efficiency and career progression.

In his words, in view of the contemporary security challenges in the country, the Nigerian Army must remain steadfast, focused, disciplined and professional in dealing with the challenges.

According to Yahaya, to this end, the development and deployment of critical competencies that will contribute significantly to the defence and security of the nation becomes imperative.

He continued: “the Nigerian Army must of necessity be creative and improve problem solving skills to be able to defeat all forms of adversaries particularly non-state actors.

To achieve this, Yahaya says the prudent utilisation of financial resources cannot be emphasised in the face of dwindling national resources.

To this end, he says the theme of the ongoing conference has been aptly crafted as Delivering Professional and Innovative Financial Services in a Joint Security Environment.

He said he believes that participants will derive the maximum benefits this conference will project towards the realisation of my vision for the NA.

“The attainment of the vision is hinged on 4 cardinal pillars, namely, Professionalism, Readiness, Administration and Cooperation,” he said.
