Leicester City to pay Rodgers £10m to leave

Leicester City could be forced to pay over £10million to sack Brendan Rodgers as their manager.

Rodgers is under immense pressure at the King Power Stadium, after the team picked up one point from seven matches.

This run includes six consecutive defeats, leaving the Foxes bottom of the Premier League.

Rodgers himself has admitted he is not sure he will still be in charge after the international break.

The 6-2 defeat at Tottenham, following a 5-2 hiding at Brighton in their previous game, is likely to spell the end of the road for Rodgers.

But the 49-year-old has almost three years left to run on his £200,000-a-week contract, which expires in 2025

This means his severance pay could run into eight figures if chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha decides to pull the plug before Leicester’s next fixture against Nottingham Forest on October 3.
