The Commander Training and Doctrine Command Nigerian Army (TRADOC NA) Maj Gen Steveson Olabanji has urged the newly promoted officers from the rank of Captain to Major to continually develop themselves in their chosen career.
Speaking during the decoration ceremony on Monday 26 September, 2022 at the TRADOC NA auditorium, he stressed the need for the officers to devote more efforts and be ready to render more selfless services to the NA.
General Olabanji added that the system is becoming increasingly competitive, hence officers should endeavor to improve on themselves by getting acquainted with different aspects of their profession.
He said "personal development does not only mean going for formal courses, but making good use of your free time to improve your knowledge".
Speaking further, the Commander stressed, that as an officer in the Nigerian Army you must lead by example, show empathy to subordinates and family without compromising discipline and standard.
Speaking earlier at the occasion, some senior officers advised them to redouble their efforts to be able to discharge expected tasks, citing that all promotions are accompanied with additional tasks.
The promoted officers are Maj DO Ighodaro, Maj IO Abubakar, Maj S Solomon and Maj B Itokighi. Speaking on behalf of the decorated officers, Maj B Itokighi thanked the Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen Faruk Yahaya for the elevation and promised their commitment and total loyalty to the system.
