The General Officer Commanding 7 Division Major General W Shaibu has urged outgoing officers on posting, promoted and decorated officers of the Nigerian Army to double their efforts to add value to the entire military operations.
General Shaibu gave this advise in his goodwill message to the Headquarters 7 Division Nigerian Army and Sector 1 Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) where he bid farewell to some of the Commanders that are proceeding on posting at the completion of their tour of duty in the Theatre of OPHK.
The Send Off Ceremony which was held on Friday, 16 September, 2022 at 7 Division Wolf Officers' Mess commenced with a Mess Get-Together declared by the President of the Mess (PMC), Brigadier General DB Suleiman and then it dovetailed into the farewell ceremony for the posted out senior officers.
The senior officers going on posting includes Commander, 77 Supply and Transport Brigade Brigadier General AA Ekubi who is proceeding to Army Headquarters Department of Army Logistics as Deputy Director Supply and Utility, the Deputy Director 7 Division Legal Services Lieutenant Colonel CW Okonkwo who is proceeding to Headquarters Legal Services as Acting Deputy Director Commercial Law Contracts and Claims and Major MA Munza proceeding to 123 SF Bn as Commanding Officer.
Similarly, 8 officers who benefitted from this year's Captain to Major Promotion Exercise were decorated with the new badges of ranks during the occasion. The newly decorated officers were from various units across Sector 1 OPHK amongst which includes Major SO Udobi, Major H Abdullahi, Maj A Bashar and Major D Abdulkadir.
While delivering the vote of thanks on behalf of all the officers, Brigadier General AA Ekubi said he is indeed very grateful to God for bringing them this far and appreciates the Chief of Army Staff for giving them the opportunity to serve in their various capacities in the Theatre.
He further gave assurances that they will always avail themselves for support and contributions to aid the operations of the Division emphasizing that their departure from the Theatre is only physical. He therefore appreciates the leadership of the Nigerian Army for considering the newly decorated officers worthy to be amongst the chosen few to be promoted.
The climax of the event was the, presentation of plaques and souvenir, decoration of the newly promoted officers, goodwill messages and advice to both the posted out and newly decorated officers as well as group photograph which ends the occasion.
Present during the event were the GOC, Major General W Shaibu, the Chief of Staff Headquarters Theatre Command, Brigadier General A Idris, Formation and Unit Commanders, Honourary Members of Wolf Officers Mess, officers of OPHK and families of the newly promoted officers.
