The Inspector-General of Police IGP Alkali Usman Baba has said, the Nigeria Police Force will remain civil, neutral and professional while enforcing all laws for adequate and effective management of election security in Nigeria.
SpyeTV News reports that the IGP Usman Alkali Baba said this when the accredited 17 defense attaches paid him a working visit om Thursday 29th September 2022 at Force Headquarters, Abuja.
According to the Force Public Relations Officer CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, in the light of this determination, the IGP is partnering with all interest groups, companies and foreign agencies to actualize our goals.
Adejobi explains that, the IGP met with some companies to procure non-lethal weapons, water canons,etc for crowd control, and other anti vices operations, as we move into the electioneering process and political activities for 2023 general elections.
"We urge political parties, candidates, groups and individuals to respect the law, and work towards maintenance of law and order, peaceful coexistence and harmony in Nigeria, before, during and after the elections.", he said.
