The Controller of Corrections Zamfara State Command, Controller Umar Galadima has sought for security support from the Nigerian Army.
The controller made the request when he led members of his entourage on a courtesy call to Commander 1 Brigade Nigerian Army, Brig Gen CA Baushe.
Galadima explained that the aim of the visit was to seek military support in the security of the correctional facility in the state.
According to him, the request became necessary following the activities of terrorists and the increase in jail break which necessitates the collaboration in order to deny them freedom of action.
In his remarks, the Commander 1 Brigade, Brig Gen Caius A Baushe, expressed appreciation to the controller for the visit, stating that it was timely and necessary.
He said that the correctional facility should be reassessed in order to avoid infiltration by criminal elements, promising to partner with the State Command to form a formidable synergy for the protection of the facility in the state.
