JUST IN: Asuu Insist on Strike

The Academic Staff Union of universities, ASUU is insisting it does not want to suspend five months old strike, but to permanently end the action.

ASUU President, Professor Emmanuel Osodeke at a briefing in Abuja blames the minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige for the prolonged action.

While appreciating President Buhari for directing education minister to take over talks, ASUU insists that the issues at stake were near conclusion, but for Ngige, they remain unresolved.

When asked if ASUU's rejection of Professorship award to communication minister, Isa Pantami was responsible for the delay in approval of UTAS, ASUU insists it will not support illegality.

Meanwhile, ASUU has declared support for the July 26 and 27 nationwide protest declare by the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC
