Journalist Allegedly Shot by Police in Osogbo

A journalist with The Nation newspaper, Toba Adedeji, has been allegedly shot while covering a protest in Osogbo, Osun State capital.

The protesters gathered under Olaiya flyover to protest the alleged killing of their colleague identified as Abiola.

While covering the protest, a team of police men stormed the scene and allegedly shot into the crowd and journalists covering the protest.

Toba was hit on the thigh by a stray bullet while a student sustained injury as protesters scampered for safety. 

The injured journalist is currently receiving treatment at the Osun State University Teaching Hospital Osogbo.
